Step 1 - Residential Solar Requires Engineered Plans

You have signed a home solar contract, what happens next? Immediately after signing up for solar energy installation a site inspection is setup. Simultaneously, your order is submitted to our design and engineering department. We need to know your roof meets the necessary requirements for solar panels to be installed. Design and Engineering plans are required by local municipalities.

Step 2 - Permitting Process

Assuming you roof passes our inspection and the engineering plans are ready we file for permits. The installation plans must be submitted by a General contractor and a Licensed Electrical contractor. Once permitting is approved, you’re ready for the solar panel installation process to begin.

Step 3 - Solar panel Installation

The day has arrived, and you are getting solar panels installed. most solar panel installations are approximately 4 to 8 hours depending on the system size. The panels are installed on rails. The Inverter is installed, and the solar panels are wired to the inverter. The Inverter is wired to the main power company meter. The Solar System remains off without power or production until interconnection is complete.

Step 4 - Interconnection

Solar Energy Systems require a two-way meter that measures kilowatt hours consumed, and kilowatt hours produced by a solar system. Depending on the age of a home the electrical meter may or may not need upgrading. Once the power company makes the main connection to the meter the solar system is powered on and starts producing power.
